•  John G. Claassen, 86, long-time resident here, died Monday morning at Bethel Deaconess Hospital.  The funeral is to be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the First Mennonite Church of which he was a member.  A retired carpenter, Mr. Claassen formerly was employed by the Newton Mill and Elevator.  Survivors include his widow, the former Marie Ensz; two sons, Eric of Ulysses and Harold of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. Myron Stucky of Moundridge and Mrs. Henry Loewen of Hesston; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother and one sister.
