•  Funeral services were held in the Parkview M. B. Church, Hillsboro, on Aug. 22 for Elmer Boese, 59, who died unexpectedly Aug. 19 shortly after going to the Salem Hospital.  Mr. Boese was a contractor-carpenter of the Hillsboro community and a member of the Walton Mennonite Church.  He leaves his widow, Anna, seven daughters, five grandchildren, and brothers and sisters.  He was the father of Mrs. Vernon Hiebert and brother of Andrew Boese, both of Newton.
