DIED SUDDENLY

P. D. Bixel, Well Known Ohio Doctor, Died Sunday, Jan. 2.

Pandora, Ohio, Jan. 6. — Dr. Peter D. Bixel, the oldest of a family of eleven children born to Abraham and Magdalene (Schumacher) Bixel, was born April 21, 1865, on what for a long time was known as the Freyman place located one and one-half miles north of Bluffton. he departed from this life, Sunday, January 2, 1938, while on his way making a call on a patient north of Pandora, reaching the ripe age of seventy-two years, eight months and twelve days.

He was graduated from the Eclectic Medical College of Cincinnati in 1901, and on July 9 of the same year received his license from the State medical Board. In the winter of 1901 Dr. Bixel located in Pandora, and this has been his field of labor ever since up to the very day of his sudden death, which was a shock to the entire community.

Sudden, and shocking, as was the death of Dr. Bixel, it was not altogether unexpected. For some time Dr. Bixel has realized that he had a heart affection (a typical 'Schumacher' heart, as he termed it), but he did not allow this fact to deter him in the slightest degree from what he conceived to be his line of duty — that of giving unstintedly of his time and labor in the alleviatipn of human suffering. — Pandora Times.
