Harrisburg, Ore. &#8212; Jerry Birky, 18, was fatally injured Oct. 16 when the car he was driving crashed into the rear of a State Highway Dept. gravel truck as it slowed to turn off the highway near Sweet home.  Funeral services were held at the Sweet Home Mennonite church.
The youth was the adopted son of Glen Birky, deacon in the Sweet home congregation.

18-YEAR-OLD OREGON YOUTH KILLED WHEN CAR CRASHES INTO TRUCK

Harrisburg, Ore. — Jerry Birky, 18, was fatally injured Oct. 16 when the car he was driving crashed into the rear of a State Highway Dept. gravel truck as it slowed to turn off the highway near Sweet home. Funeral services were held at the Sweet Home Mennonite church.
