Funeral services for Jacob B. Schmidt, 88, were held Sunday afternoon at the Grace Hill Mennonite Church, with Rev. E. J. Miller in charge. Mr. Schmidt died June 10 at the Schmidt Nursing Home in Moundridge where he had been a patient since November 1962. He was born in Pleasant Township east of Newton and farmed there most of his life. Survivors include his widow, the former Elizabeth Penner, and children, Mrs. V. T. Harms and Tobias of rural Newton, Rev. John F. Schmidt of North Newton, and Aaron K. Schmidt of South Bend, Ind. and their families.
