• Mrs. Esther B. Becker, 80, of Goessel died the evening of Nov. 2 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Tabor Mennonite Church, with Rev. James Schrag in charge. Mrs. Becker, the former Esther Schmidt, married Reynold Becker at Goessel in 1923. They farmed near Walton for 13 years, and then moved to Newton. Mr. Becker died in 1950, and his widow had lived at Goessel the past 10 years. She leaves four brothers, Paul, Philip, Chris and Sam H. Schmidt, all of Goessel; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Harms of Newton, Kathrine Schmidt of Goessel, and Mrs. H. B. Schmidt of Deer Creek, Okla. | |||
