FORMER MISSIONARY TO CHINA DIES

Berne, Ind.—Funeral services for Miss Eva F. Sprunger, 81, a resident at Swiss Village here, were held on Friday morning, June 29. Rev. Gordon Neuenschwander, pastor of the First Mennonite Church, officiated.

Miss Sprunger, a member at First Church, served as a missionary at Kutien, Fukien, China for 10 years under the Women’s Division of the Methodist Church.

From 1945 to 1963 she was librarian of the Berne Public library. She was the author of the book, “The First Hundred Years," a history of the Mennonites in Adams County, published in 1938.
