ALMA WIEBE
(Mrs.) Alma Wiebe of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away on August 1. She was born to Isaac and Mary Dyck on May 15, 1915 in Borden, Sask. At age 13 she gave her life to Jesus Christ, and at age 17 she was baptized into the Borden Mennonite Brethren Church. On August 7, 1938 she married Paul J. Wiebe of Main Centre, Sask. Paul was a teacher, and the couple gathered friends in Main Centre, Borden, Hepburn, Waldheim, Saskatoon and Lashburn in communities in which they taught and pastored . In 1967 they moved to Abbotsford. The family writes, "Throughout her life, she had the deep assurance that she was a child of God not because of her up- bringing, church, good character, or the good things she did, but because of what Christ had done for her when she accepted him as her Saviour." She was predeceased by son -in-law Howard Harder and granddaughter Jaelyn Harder. She is survived by husband Paul; children and spouses: Del and Lillian Doerksen, Dennis and Caroline Poetker, Robert and Cathy Wiebe, Gordon and Ruth Wiebe, and Randall; seven grandchildren, one brother, one sister, one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Her funeral was held August 5 in the Central Heights Mennonite Brethren Church.
