Elizabeth Balzer died at home Dec. 25 after a long struggle with cancer. She was born May 21, 1923 in Neuhalbstadt, Russia. Turbulent, violent times marked her youth and early adulthood. She became a Christian in 1943. She married David Reimer, had a child, and became a widow in the period of 14 months. The flight from Ukraine during WWII took her to Holland, where she met David Balzer. They travelled to Paraguay, where they were married and Elizabeth was baptized.
