Double Services For Bishop and Wife Held In Pennsylvania

Maugansville, Md. — Friends and co-workers from several states went to Snyder County, Pennsylvania to attend double funeral services for Bishop and Mrs. Boyd Kauffman, held at Lauver Mennonite Church on Dec. 28.

The couple were involved in an auto accident on Dec. 8, and Bishop Kauffman remained in critical condition until his death on Christmas day. His wife apparently had recovered. She went to view her husband's body the evening of the 16th, and died unexpectedly the following morning. She was 74 and her husband was 72.

The couple were members of the Bethel Mennonite church near Mt. Pleasant Mills, Pa. Bro. Kauffman was ordained as a bishop several years ago and was bishop of the Bethel Church and also of the Hagerstown Mennonite Fellowship here.
