• Edward W. Bartel, 82, who farmed in the Hillsboro community most of his life, died Friday morning, March 13, after suffering a heart attack at his home in North Newton. He had been in ill health because of a heart ailment for several years. Surviving are his widow, the former Ida Schroeder, of the home; two sons, Wesley of Newton and Harold of North Newton; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Henry of Lehigh. The funeral was conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Bethel College Church, of which he was a member, with Dr. Lloyd Ramseyer and Rev. Esko Loewen officiating. | |||
