ANNA UNGER

Anna Unger died Apr. 5. She was born Jan. 16, 1917 to Jacob and Anna Herfort in Gnadenfeld, Molotschna Colony, Ukraine. She married Hermann Dechant. She immigrated to Canada with her children and mother after World War II, living in Gem, Alta. She was baptized, joining Gem MB Church, Aug. 29, 1954. She worked hard irrigating fields to provide for her family. She loved plants and flowers and shared them with others. She married Henry Unger in 1994, moving to Abbotsford. Here she made blankets for MCC, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She joined Clearbrook MB Church. She read the Bible faithfully; favourite passages were John 3:16, Ps. 23:4, Ps. 121:1-4, and others. Predeceased by husbands Hermann and Henry, 2 grandchildren, 1 brother, she is mourned by son Ted Dechant of Abbotsford; daughters Jean Sweetland of Calgary and Sally Pankratz of Gem; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The funeral was in Woodlawn Funeral Home, Abbotsford, with Walter Wiens and Walter Balzer ministering.
