MARIE UNRUH
Marie Unruh died May 27. She was born Aug. 11, 1907 in Schoenhorst, Chortitza, Ukraine to Anton and Anne Berg. Her mother died in Dec. 1919, 6 weeks after Marie accepted Jesus as personal Saviour. Her father remarried in 1921. She was baptized, joining the MB church in Kalirstarawka. In 1926 the family immigrated to Canada. She worked at the Ninette, Man. TB sanatorium, then studied nursing, graduating in 1937. She married George Schellenberg. They farmed in High Bluff, Man. After 18 years they sold the farm, moving to Headingley, Man. She worked at Deer Lodge Hospital, retiring at 65. George died in 1971. In Sept. 1975 she married Cornelius Unruh. They lived in B.C. He died in 1988. In Dec. 2002 she moved into Tabor Home, Abbotsford. The verse in 2 Cor. 12:9 was a comfort to her.
