Bixel, 77, had died unexpectedly April 16 at his home in Bluffton, Ohio.  He was a retired optometrist and at one time taught at Bethel college.  His wife, the former Margaret Claassen, was a Bethel graduate.

Bluffto, Ohio. &#8212; Memorial services for Dr. Gordon Bixel, 77, retired optometrist, and his sister, Fern V. Bixel, 74, both of Bluffton, were held at the First Mennonite Church here on Thursday evening, April 18, with Rev. Stanley Bohn officiating.
Death for both came on Tuesday morning, April 16.  Dr. Bixel died unexpectedly after having been concerned over the condition of his sister who had suffered a heart attack.
Dr. Bixel is survived by his widow, the former Margaret Klaassen, and three children.

He was a retired optometrist and at one time taught at Bethel college. His wife, the former Margaret Claassen, was a Bethel graduate.

OPTOMETRIST AND SISTER DIE

Bluffto, Ohio. — Memorial services for Dr. Gordon Bixel, 77, retired optometrist, and his sister, Fern V. Bixel, 74, both of Bluffton, were held at the First Mennonite Church here on Thursday evening, April 18, with Rev. Stanley Bohn officiating.

Death for both came on Tuesday morning, April 16. Dr. Bixel died unexpectedly after having been concerned over the condition of his sister who had suffered a heart attack.
