AGNES NIESSEN
Agnes Niessen died Mar. 29. She was born Jan. 1, 1917 in Aberdeen, Sask. to John and Margaret Letkeman. She accepted the Lord during revival meetings. She married Bill Niessen in 1940. They lived on the Niessen family farm until 1949 when they moved to Chilliwack, and then in 1956 to Abbotsford. They joined Central Heights Church, where she worked in Sunday school, the nursery, Pioneer Girls, Good News Club and on the food committee. They became foster parents to 33 children and provided nursing care for several elderly people. She worked as a nurse's aide at a health centre and participated in the grandparenting program in an elementary school. After Bill died in 1999, she moved into Menno Home. Predeceased by Bill, 1 sister, 2 brothers; she is mourned by son Ron; daughter Marj Jantzen; 5 sisters; 2 brothers. The funeral was Apr. 7 in Central Heights Church with Chris Douglas ministering.
