JACOB TILITZKY
Jacob Tilitzky died Aug. 31. He was born June 30, 1904 in Einlage, South Russia to Gerhard and Elizabeth Tilitzky. His father died in 1920. In 1923 he immigrated to Herbert, Sask. In 1926, through the ministry of C.N. Hiebert, he accepted Christ. He was baptized and joined Greenfarm MB Church. He married Katharine Andres in 1932. They farmed in Neidpath, then in Greenfarm. In 1947 they moved to Herbert where they joined Herbert MB Church. He worked for various firms, the longest term with Herbert Co-op where he made many friends delivering fuel to the farmers. He instilled in his family a deep reverence and love for God. He was an usher in the church. His work left little time for holidays or hobbies but he enjoyed being with his family, singing and laughing with them. Predeceased by Katherine in 2003, he is mourned by daughters Elsie Thiessen, Nettie Wiebe, Mary Christianson; son Ben; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great- great-grandchild; 2 brothers. The funeral was Sept. 4 in Herbert MB Church.
