DEACONESS DIES AT AGE 87

Buhler, Kan. — Funeral services for Sister Mary Friesen, 87, of Buhler were to be held at the Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church at Inman on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 1, with Rev. C. F. Plett officiating. She died following a brief illness on Jan. 30.

A native of Jansen, Neb., Sister Friesen was ordained a deaconess-nurse in 1921 and served as superintendent of the Salem Hospital at Hillsboro for 10 years.

She was a resident of the Buhler area for more than 50 years.
