— Funeral services for Gerhard Joh. Klassen, 83, of Hillsboro were held Friday morning, Sept. 10, at the Hillsboro, M. B. Church, with Rev. Marvin Hein officiating. Mr. Klassen died Sept. 7 at Salem Hospital there. He was a native of South Russia where he served as a teacher and minister before coming to the United States in 1926. From 1926 to 1935 he engaged in a spiritual ministry and custodial work at the Bethesda Hospital and Home in Goessel, and later operated a store at Elbing. Among the survivors are his widow, Sarah; three sons, George of Buhler, Pete of Whitewater, and Bennie of Elbing, three daughters, Mrs. Arthur B. Wall of Newton, Mrs. Glenn Plank and Mrs. Ned Plank, both of Wichita; and 18 grandchildren.
