ANNE DUECK
Anne Dueck died Oct. 30 in Winnipeg. She was born Nov. 29, 1912 in Kistendej, Arkadak, Russia to Heinrich and Maria Dueck. Her mother died 9 years later and Anne assumed responsibilities for the family. Her father remarried shortly thereafter. In 1926 the family immigrated to Manitou, Man. She began her faith journey in 1927 and was baptized in 1928, joining Manitou MB Church. She attended Winkler (Man.) Bible School and taught daily vacation Bible school. She attended MB Bible College in 1947, graduating in 1951. She worked with Canada Inland Mission in Winnipegosis, and later in B.C. with WesCoast Children's Mission. In 1957 she completed high school and teacher training in Vancouver and taught until 1970. She worked for Children's Aid Society in Winnipeg for 10 years.
