JOHN W. BAERG

John W. Baerg of Saskatoon passed away on March 4. He was born to Isaac and Elizabeth (Wiens) Baerg in Henderson, Nebraska on September 8, 1900. As a boy he moved with his family to the Dalmeny-Mennon (Sask.) area and attended the Kimball district school. On December 11, 1927 he married Sarah Elizabeth Reimer. During revival meetings in June 1930, they both received Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord. Two months later they were baptized and joined the Ebenezer Mennonite Brethren Church in Dalmeny. The couple farmed in the Dalmeny-Mennon area until 1956, when they moved into Saskatoon. He did construction work until he retired in 1968. He is survived by his wife Sarah; children and spouses: Allan and Alice of Dalmeny, and Walter and Lil of Saskatoon; two sisters and one brother. The funeral was held on March 8 in the Central MB Church, Saskatoon, with pastor Rueben Baerg, and Henry Baerg officiating.
