DAVID HUBERT

David Hubert died Apr. 9. He was born Sept. 2, 1917 to Frank and Helen Hubert near Omsk, Russia. In 1927 the family immigrated to Alberta, living briefly in Brooks and then in Coaldale. He married Mary Siebert Apr. 11, 1948. They farmed near Coaldale and were active in Coaldale MB Church. On Feb. 8, 1995 he suffered a severe stroke which resulted in a move to Coaldale Health Care Centre. He was grateful for the good care he received. David is remembered as a hard-working, fun-loving, gentle-spirited husband, father and grandfather who expressed his faith in practical ways. He promoted integrity and peace in personal, business and civic relationships. He served in altemative service as a conscientious objector in World War II. He loved fishing, hunting, travelling and enjoying nature. Predeceased by 4 brothers, 3 sister and 1 granddaughter, he is mourned by Mary; sons John of Coaldale, and Frank and Alvin of Bonanza, Alta; daughters Linda Funk of Spirit River, Alta and Leona Bartel of Lethbridge, Alta; 19 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 sister.
