George Adrian of Munich, N. D. died in a tractor mishap near Munich some time Tuesday morning, Sept. 28, 1948. It is not known whether he had become ill and fallen from the tractor or had been jolted off. He was plowing for Edwin Janowski on a farm three and one-half miles southwest of Munich, and was not missed until he failed to come in for dinner. | |||
George, son of Peter and Elizabeth Adrian, was born at Munich October 15, 1903. He was baptized by Rev. Jacob Theiszen of Dolton, S. D., at the Salem church of Munich on June 6, 1926. | |||
Surviving him are his mother, five sisters and four brothers. His father died in 1914. The sisters and brothers are Helen Elkinton, Prairie View, Kansas, Anna Peterson of Larchwood, Iowa, Elizabeth Gibson of Valley Springs, S. D., Kathryn Trenary of Erwin, S. D., Margaret Sanerud of Hazel Run, Minn., Dietrich Adrian of Floodwood, Minn., Henry Jacob, John, and Peter, all of Munich. All were present at the funeral. | |||
Funeral services were held at the Salem Mennonite church at Munich on Oct. 1, 1948, with Rev. H. F. Ortman and Rev. George Hoffman in charge. Pall bearers were Peter Harder, John P. Dick, Jacob Pankratz, Henry Hoffman, Dave and Hank Janzen. Burial was made in the cemetery two miles east of Munich. He reached the age of 44 years 11 months and 12 days. | |||
