JAKE F. ENNS
Jake F. Enns of Carman, Man. passed away Jan. 11. He was born Sept. 12, 1930 to Frank and Margaret Enns. As eldest son, he helped his father on the farm. At 14, he accepted Christ. He attended Winkler (Man.) Bible Institute for 3 years. He taught Sunday school at Tracy School and several years at Elm Creek (Man,) MB Church. In 1950 he was baptized and joined Elm Creek MB Church. He enjoyed singing in male quartets and choirs, including the Parade of Quartets and Choirs, an annual southern Manitoba event. He enjoyed farming. In 1956 he married Magdalene Enns. They farmed near Homewood, Man. In 1998 they moved to Carman. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia and was admitted to hospital in January 2000. Six months later, he moved to Boyne Lodge. His smile and clear moments were appreciated by family, friends and staff. He is mourned by his wife Maggie; daughter Carolyn Thielmann of Ochre River, Man.; sons Harvey of Homewood and Barry and Rodney, both of Winnipeg; 6 grandchildren; 1 brother and 5 sisters. The funeral was Jan. 14 in Elm Creek MB Church, with John Willems ministering.
