MRS. ELISABETH HEIDE

(Mrs.) Elisabeth Heide of St. Catharines passed away on August 24. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. (nee Hamm) C. I. Loewen on May 16, 1897 in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. Her family moved to Canada in 1901, to Escondido, California in 1909, then to Dalmeny, Sask. in 1912. In 1914 she accepted· Christ as her Saviour, was baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren church. For many years she was active in mission service work in the church. On August 14, 1919 she married Cornelius C. Heide in Hepburn, Sask. In October 1938 they moved with their three children to Virgil, Ont. The Heides celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary on July 28 of this year. Her family remembers her as a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband Cornelius of Tabor Manor, St. Catharines, Ont.; son Archie and wife Loretta of St. Catharines; daughters Edna (Mrs. Martin) Nasgaard of St. Catharines and Leona (Mrs. Ernest) Dyck of Abbotsford, B.C.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The funeral was held August 27 at the Virgil MB Church, with Ben Falk and Rudy Bartel in charge.
