GERHARD P. WIENS

Gerhard (George) Peter Wiens of Vernon, B.C., went to be with the Lord on July 4. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Wiens in Glenbush, Sask., on February 13, 1949. He accepted Christ as his Savior when he was nine, and his commitment was evident in his intense concern for other people. After the sudden death of his father, George moved to Saskatoon with his mother in 1966. After completing high school, he moved to Vancouver to work. He was baptized and received into membership in the Killarney Park MB Church in Vancouver. On October 10, 1970, He was married to Edith Neuman, whom he had met in Clearbrook, B.C. Through an accident at work, the Lord saw fit to take him home at the age of 30.

He will be missed by his wife Edith; two sons, Ryan and Joel; his mother Mrs. Maria Martens and stepfather Abe Martens; five brothers and their wives: Herbert and Vi of Quebec, Reuben and Sharon of Saskatchewan, Edward of Ontario, John of B.C. and Victor of Washington; eight sisters and their husbands: Lily and Lawrence Willems of Saskatchewan, Rose and Ernie Penner of B.C., Anna and Ken Kroeker of Saskatchewan, Violet and John Parris of Alberta, Beth and Ernie Friesen of Washington, Naomii and Phil Kapplehoff of Washington, Melita and Tim Kudel of Manitoba and Blondina and Russ Funk of Alberta; and many other friends and relatives.
