Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Jan. 16, at the Cordell M. B. Church, of which he was a long-time member. Mr. and Mrs. Wedel lived near the church having moved from the farm seven years ago. | |||
Mr. Wedel drove to his farm with a small tractor and plow on Wednesday morning to do some plowing. Henry Penner, working in a nearby field, said the tractor tumbled down a creek bank, pinning Mr. Wedel face down in the water. Death was due to drowning. | |||

Freeman G. Gingerich, 52, was preparing to load some hogs at his farm when the backing truck pinned him against the loading chute. | |||
His widow, two sons, three daughters and nine grandchildren survive. | |||
