Annie Neufeld

Annie Neufeld of Virgil, Onto passed away Jan. 30. She was born May 25, 1900 to John and Aganetha Sawatsky in Nikolayevka, Russia. She had a happy childhood. She accepted Christ as a young girl and was baptized with her father and grandfather after a revival went through their villages. She married Henry Neufeld Sept. 26, 1919. They immigrated to Canada in 1926 and lived in Aberdeen, Sask. for 12 difficult years. In 1941 they moved to a farm near Virgil. Henry died in 1974. She remained on the farm until she moved to Pleasant Manor in 1978. She is remembered for h er outstanding hospitality and as a faithful, God-fearing mother. She is survived by her children Nettie Guenther, Henry, Betty, Annie Derksen, John, Corny, Gilbert, Lena Loewen, Peter and Herman, and 1 sister. The funeral was in Virgil MB Church, with George Wichert ministering.
