Head-On Crash Fatal To Illinois Farmer
Metamora, Ill. — Funeral services were conducted at the Metamora Mennonite Church on Sept. 19 for Maynard R. Hostetler, 43-year-old farmer of the El Paso community who died in a Peoria hospital Sept. 17 of injuries sustained in an Indiana highway crash four weeks earlier.
Mr. Hostetler and his brother Leo of Roanoke were en route to Michigan to get a load of peaches when their truck was hit head-on near Valparaiso, Ind. The teenage driver of the other vehicle apparently went to sleep at the wheel. Leo Hostetler has recovered from the injuries, but his brother never regained consciousness.
He leaves his wife, the former Ada Schrock of Metamora; three sons and two daughters, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Hostetler of Roanoke; three sisters and three brothers.
Note: The other three obituaries on this page were: Albrecht, David Alan (1947-1964), Dunn, William J. (1901-1964) and Miller, Leo J. (1933-1964)
