EDWARD G. FUNK

Edward G. Funk, the son of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Doerksen) Funk, was born in Arnaud, Manitoba, on February 23, 1926 and passed away suddenly following a heart attack on July 13, 1976, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. He was married to Adeline Hiebert on October 3, 1953.

Ed accepted the Lord in his teens and later was baptized and accepted into the East Chilliwack Mennonite Brethren Church, B.C. He has been a member of the Kitchener Mennonite Brethren church since the fall of 1953. He loved music and served his God by singing in senior citizen and nursing homes and hospitals. Many will miss his regular visits and service.

The funeral service was held at the Kitchener Church on July 16, with Pastor John F. Froese officiating. Dr. F. C. Peters, who had married them in 1953, also spoke. Edward Boldt served with two songs.

He is mourned by his beloved wife, Adeline, and two sons, Dennis and Marvin at home; his brothers: Henry of Agincourt, Ontario; Otto of Surrey, B.C.; and Peter of Mission City, B .C.; one sister, Frieda (Mrs. Herman) Ratzlaff, Chilliwack, B.C.; and many other relatives and friends. His parents, Peter and Elisabeth Funk, and brother Walter predeceased him.
