PIONEER SETTLER DIES AT INMAN

Inman, Kan. — Maria Toevs, 89, a retired housekeeper and pioneer Mennonite immigrant from Russia, died at the Pleasant View Home here Dec. 27 after a long illness.

Miss Toevs was born in Russia on Jan. 23, 1873. She lived at Moundridge before coming to the home for aged here seven years ago.

She was a member of the Hoffnungsau Church.

The funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon by Rev. Lamont Woelk and Rev. John Wierneke.
