●  Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Alexanderwohl Church near Goessel for David B. Eck, 82, retired farmer of Newton who died Thursday, Dec. 27, in Bethel Deaconess Hospital.  Mr. Eck farmed north of Newton from 1924 until his retirement in 1950.  He leaves his widow, the former Susie B. Richert, four daughters, three sons, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, four sisters and three brothers.
