Marie Koehn Pjesky, daughter of Cornelius and Katherine Koehn, was born on May 14, 1897, in McPherson County, Kansas. Her earthly pilgrimage came to a close on Oct. 27, 1962, after a prolonged illness of more than six years. She reached the age of 65 years, five months and 13 days.
As a small girl she moved with her parents to the Goltry, Okls. community. She was privileged to live in this community until 1950 when she moved to Enid.
On June 7, 1914, she was baptized upon the profession of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and was admitted into the membership of the Zoar Mennonite Church by the Rev. H. R. Voth. After moving to Enid in 1950 she transferred to the Grace Mennonite Church in Enid, where she remained a faithful member until her death.
On August 2, 1915, she was united in marriage to Samuel F. Pjesky. To this union were born four children, one son, Alvin, and three daughters, Lillie, Laura, and Mildred. They established their home on a farm northeast of Goltry. They were able to spend 30 years of life together. On Oct. 17, 1945, the Lord saw fit to call her husband into his presence. Mother was a devoted wife and mother, one who exercised Christian principles in raising her children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
She leaves to mourn her departure one son, Alvin of Goltry; three daughters, Lillie, Mrs. Harry Reimer of Las Vegas, Nevada, Laura, Mrs. Clayton Jantz of Meno, and Mildred of the home; seven granddaughters and five grandsons; five sisters, Mrs. Carrie Pekrul of Pond Creek, Mrs. Pete Jantz of Meno, Mrs. William Boehs of Goltry, and Mrs. Irving Unruh of Meno; three brothers, Isaac Koehn of Meno, B.
