(MRS.) ELIZABETH OLFERT

The daughter of Gerhard F. and Anna (nee Janzen) Enns, (Mrs.) Elizabeth Olfert was born January 20, 1908 in New Reinland, Manitoba. She passed away in Morden, Man., on January 20, 1976, after a lengthy illness with cancer.

She accepted the Lord as her Saviour in 1928 and was baptized and joined the Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church that same year. She reminded a faithful member of this church for 48 years. She especially enjoyed singing and band music, and attended the Winkler Bible Institute in 1935.

In May of 1938 she married Joe Olfert of Saskatchewan, and they settled in Reinland to farm. The celebration of their silver wedding anniversary in 1963 was a real highlight for the family . She was a faithful attender of church, "Schwesterverein" and Sunday school as long as health permitted. They moved to Winkler in 1969.

A funeral service was held on January 31 in the Winkler church with pastor John Stoesz and Rev. John Neufeld officiating.

She leaves to mourn her beloved husband Joe; two daughters, Millie and Lois; one grandson, Curtis; a sister, Anna; a brother George; and many friends and relatives.
