&#8212;  Word was received here that Sam Funk of Hillsboro died suddenly at his home Tuesday evening shortly after retiring for the night.  He had been in ill health but his death was unexpected.  He was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Marie Funk of North Newton.

&#8212;  Funeral services for Sam R. Funk, 66, lifelong resident of the Hillsboro community, were held Sunday afternoon at the First Mennonite Church there, Rev. Elbert Koontz officiating.  Mr. Funk died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday night, May 9.  He is survived by his widow, the former Esther Janzen, five sons, two daughters, two brothers and three sisters.
