Mrs. Scherz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. jacob Burkhart, was reared in Newton and lived here until 1926 when she moved to California. her husband died in 1948. |

— Word was received here that Mrs.. Dave Schertz, 78,former resident of Newton, died of a heart attack at her home in Turlock, Calif. Funeral services were held at Turlock lat Saturday. Mrs. Scherz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. jacob Burkhart, was reared in Newton and lived here until 1926 when she moved to California. her husband died in 1948.
