Two Killed in Kansas Highway Accidents

FATAL COLLISIONS OCCUR AT PRETTY PRAIRIE AND MOUNDRIDGE

Hutchinson, Kan. — A one-car crash near Pretty Prairie early Monday morning and a truck collision near Moundridge Sunday night claimed the lives of two young persons.

Larry D. Krehbiel, 21, was returning home when he apparently went to sleep at the wheel and his car crashed into a concrete culvert west of Pretty Prairie. The badly wrecked car landed on its top and had to be righted before the youth's body could be removed.

Funeral services were arranged for Wednesday forenoon at the Pretty Prairie Mennonite Church. Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey D. Krehbiel, three brothers and one sister.

Twelve-year-old Sharon Kay Hildebrand of Hutchinson was fatally injured Sunday when the pick-up truck driven by her father, Gerhard D. Hildebrand, pulled into the path of a semi-trailer at a highway intersection near Moundridge. She died the same night in Mercy hospital. Her sister, Sandra Sue, 9, was injured.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the E.U.B. church here, with burial in the Zoar cemetery.
