— Funeral services for Mrs. John Woelk, 50, who died suddenly in her home in Goessel on Wednesday morning, Oct. 26, were held Saturday afternoon at the Goessel Mennonite church, with Rev. Levi Koehn in charge and Rev. John Thiessen assisting. Mrs. Woelk was born in 1910 to Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Franz and lived near Goessel all her life. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Virgil Nachtigal of Newton; two sons, LeRoy and Charles of Goessel; one sister, three brothers and seven grandchildren. | |||

Anna Franz Woelk, daughter of Peter C. and Eva Schmidt Franz, was born on June 8, 1910, northwest of Goessel, Kan., and passed away Oct. 26, 1960, at the age of 50 years, four months and 20 days. | |||
She received her education at the Hochfeld school and the Goessel preparatory school. On June 5, 1927, she was baptized by Elder Peter H. Unruh and became a member of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite church. After her marriage she transferred her membership to the Goessel Mennonite church. On Nov. 17, 1929, she was married to John Woelk, who survives. | |||
She was a dear mother to her children and grandchildren. Her friendly disposition made her beloved by her neighbors and friends. She will be missed at the many family gatherings. | |||
She leaves to mourn, her husband, John Woelk; one daughter, Viola Mae and her husband Virgil Nachtigal, of Newton; two sons, Leroy and wife Marcella, and Charles and wife Mary Ann, both of Goessel, seven grandchildren, one sister, and three brothers. | |||
She and her husband celebrated their silver wedding anniversary in November, 1954. | |||

ANNA FRANZ WOELK
