— Mrs. Margaret Thiessen, 64, of the Inman community died Monday afternoon at the Bethesda Hospital in Goessel after a long illness. Funeral services are to be held Thursday forenoon at the Zoar K.M.B. Church. Surviving are her husband, George R. Thiessen, one son, Menno of Big Lake, Calif.; two daughers [sic], Mrs. Henry Toews of Moundridge and Mrs. Eldon Neufeldt of McPherson; three sisters, four brothers and eight grandchildren.

MARGARET THIESSEN

Our beloved wife and mother, Margaret (nee Easu [sic Esau]) Thiessen, daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Esau, was born on October 14, 1895, on a farm near Inman, Kan. She departed this life to enter into the presence of the Lord on July 25, 1960, in the Bethesda hospital at Goessel, Kan., having reached the age of 64 years, nine months, and 11 days.

The years of her childhood were spent on the farm. Because of the death of her father when she was only ten, she and her brothers and sisters learned at an early age to face the responsibilities of life.

When only eleven, she accepted the Lord as her Saviour. On May 26, 1907, she was baptized by her uncle, Elder John Esau, and joined the Zoar K. M. B. church, where she remained a faithful member until her death.

Her schooling was received at the Wolf Creek school and Hillsboro academy, after which she taught school near Meade, Kan.

On April 25, 1915, she was united in marriage with George R. Thiessen. To this union three children were born.

Mother had been seriously ill several times in the last 19 years, but through the prayers of her many loved ones and the mercies of God, she rallied to face life anew. Although she never completely recovered her health, mother's quiet determination enabled her to fulfill her duties as a wife and mother. A heart condition developed and with other complications she became progressively weaker.

She was taken to the hospital on July 22 and three days later at 2:30 p.m., she entered into eternal rest to be with Christ in glory.

We thank and praise God for His grace and unselfishness toward His children, which was conveyed by mother toward her family. Her greatest concern was always for others and never for herself.

Family members remaining are her husband, George R.; one son, Menno and family; two daughters, Bernice, Mrs. Henry Toews and family, Viola, Mrs. Eldon Neufeld and family; three sisters, four brothers and many relatives and friends. One grandson preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. C. Pauls at the Zoar K. M. B. church, Inman, Kan. — The Family.
