AGATHA KLASSEN
Agatha Klassen was born in South Russia
on August 23, 1898. Her parents were
Johann and Aganetha Klassen (nee Derksen). She turned to the Lord for salvation in
her youth and was baptized upon her
confession of faith and received into the
Mennonite Brethren Church on July 31,
1911.
In October, 1925 she emigrated to Canada with her parents and brothers and sisters. She was on a farm until April, 1926, when she came to Winnipeg. Here she worked in the household of the C. N. Hiebert family for about seven years. After that she has served in different homes in the city until her health no longer permitted it. She has resided in Donwood Manor from November 16, 1970 until the Lord called her home on July 3l.
She was the eldest sister and her family cherished her. She had a very warm heart for all of them. Now she is with the Lord who was her salvation and hope. He has helped her in hours of trial, but has also given her much joy.
She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: sister-in-law Sofie Klassen, of Russia; Neta and Jacob Reimer, St. Catharines, Ont.; Jacob and Mary, Riverton, Man.; sister-in-law Helene Klassen. Winnipeg; Maria and Jacob Wiens, Winnipeg; Cornelius and Maria, Winnipeg; Dietrich and Gertrude, Winnipeg; Anna and Victor Willems, Winnipeg; and sister Erna, Winnipeg.
She is predeceased by her parents and by four brothers, Simon, Johann, Abraham and Gerhard.
Funeral service was August 5 in the North Kildonan MB Church, with Rev. Wm. Neufeld and Allan Labun officiating.
