(MRS.) MARGARET JOSSUL

Margaret Elvira was born to Abe and Mary Froese on October 5, 1943 in Winnipeg, third in a family of five children. She had two brothers, Abe of Vancouver and Art of Toronto, and two sisters, Mary Schier of Vancouver, and Hildi Tiessen of Waterloo.

She accepted Christ as her Saviour at an early age and was baptized at fourteen, becoming a member of the North Kildonan MB Church.

In 1960 she graduated from the Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute, trained as a secretary and worked as such in Winnipeg and Vancouver, until she returned to further her education at the University of Winnipeg, graduating with a B.A. in May of 1969. That summer, on August 8, she married Captain Brian Leslie Jossul and settled in Edmonton. Their first child, Jeffrey Allan, was born on May 31, 1971. The following summer the family was transferred to Winnipeg where their second son, Ronald Michael, was born on April 21, 1973.

Shortly after she became progressively unwell, and in October of 1973 cancer was diagnosed. On May 10 she passed away after a long and difficult illness during which time her courage and witness were appreciated by many. Rev. Ernie Isaac, who conducted the funeral service in the North Kildonan MB Church on May 13, had visited Margaret during his counselling services at the hospital, and comforted the grieving by recalling her faith in God's sufficiency.
