Otto Frederick Carstensen, son of Peter C. and Maria Peterson Carstensen, was born Aug. 16, 1896, at Ricketts, Ia., and died at LaSalle, Colo. Dec. 14, 1959 at the age of 63 years.   
 
Otto grew to manhood around Schleswig, Ia.  He was united in marriage to Catherine Stutzman June 24, 1937, at Fremont, Neb. to this union was born one daughter, Anna Marie.   
 
The family has resided in Broken Bow, Neb. since 1938, where Mr. Carstensen operated the Stockmen's Cafe.   
 
He accepted the Lord as his personal Saviour in 1941 and served Him faithfully for the rest of his life.  He loved to read the Word of God and since his illness in March had read the Bible entirely through once, and had read the first five books for the second time.   
 
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Catherine; a daughter Anna Marie; a son-in-law, Richard Fox of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Nuhs of Hartley, Ia., Mrs. Alma Pepper of Schleswig, Ia., and Mrs. Katie Koop of El Monte, Calif.; three brothers, Ben of Ricketts, Ia., Emil of Homick, Ia., and Arnold of Burbank, Calif.

OTTO CARSTENSEN
