Lancaster, Pa. — A runaway a short distance north of New Holland Dec. 4 proved fatal to Moses Huyard, 58, and resulted in critical Injuries to his daughter Mary, 29, and four-year-old granddaughter, Emma Esh, daughter of Amos Esh.

The three were returning from a parochial school near Mechanicsburg where the daughter teaches when the horse bolted, throwing their light wagon against a pole. The horse had been purchased only recently, and before the trip Bro Huyard’s wife had urged him not to drive it.

Besides his wife, he is survived by eight children.

LANCASTER CO. FARMER KILLED, TWO INJURED WHEN HORSE RUNS AWAY

Lancaster, Pa. — A runaway a short distance north of New Holland Dec. 4 proved fatal to Moses Huyard, 58, and resulted in critical Injuries to his daughter Mary, 29, and four-year-old granddaughter, Emma Esh, daughter of Amos Esh.

The three were returning from a parochial school near Mechanicsburg where the daughter teaches when the horse bolted, throwing their light wagon against a pole. The horse had been purchased only recently, and before the trip Bro Huyard’s wife had urged him not to drive it.

Besides his wife, he is survived by eight children.
