She died Jan. 5 at the Cordell hospital from a stroke and complications resulting from a fractured hip suffered about three months ago.

A native of Marion County, Kansas, Mrs. Bartel came to Fairview with her parents in 1894. She was the former Amelia Karber. She and her husband observed their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 13, 1957.

Early-Day Settler At Fairview, Okla. Dies

Corn, Okla. — Funeral services were conducted at the Mennonite Brethren church near Bessie on Jan. 7 for Mrs. William H. Bartel, 80, long-time resident of the western Oklahoma area. She died Jan. 5 at the Cordell hospital from a stroke and complications resulting from a fractured hip suffered about three months ago.

A native of Marion County, Kansas, Mrs. Bartel came to Fairview with her parents in 1894. She was the former Amelia Karber. She and her husband observed their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 13, 1957.

Surviving in addition to Mr. Bartel are nine children and their families.
