&#8212; Mrs. Marie L. Harder, 79, widow of Bernhard Harder, died unexpectedly Oct. 9 at her home, 912 High Street in Newton. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Emmaus church near Whitewater, with Rev. L. R. Amstutz and Rev. H. J. Dyck in charge. Mrs. Harder, the former Marie Berg, was born in Germany and was a long-time resident of the Whitewater community, moving to Newton in1942. She leaves one son, Jacob of Newton, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
