Immigrant of 1876 Dies at Hillsboro

Hillsboro, Kan. — Funeral services for Mrs. Margaretha Friesen, 86, who came to this country from Russia as a child in 1876, were held at the Mennonite Brethren Church here Sept.13. She died at the Salem Hospital after a long period of failing health.

Mrs. Friesen's family settled in Nebraska, where she was married to Klaas D. Friesen in 1904. He died in 1929, and since 1930 she had lived in Hillsboro.

Surviving are children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Henry C. Wiens of Hutchinson.
