Emma Ringelman was born June 6, 1872, at Plumsteadville, Pa. (near Philadelphia), the fourth of six children of George and Louise Ringelman. She passed away quietly in here sleep on March 23, 1957, at the age of 84.

While a young woman in Pennsylvania she worked in her father’s tailor shop. In 1897 she came to Oklahoma with her parents, living for a while on a farm northwest of Geary, then moving with them to Geary where for many years she was active in the poultry business.

She joined the Deep Run Mennonite Church in Pennsylvania as a girl. In Oklahoma she became a charter member of the Geary Mennonite Church when it was organized in 1897 by her brother-in-law, Rev. J. S. Krehbiel.

Despite a lifelong hearing handicap, she led a useful life filled with devotion to her family and her church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Ringelman, and a sister, Katie Krehbiel. She is survived by a brother, Fred Ringelman of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Lizzie Ruth of Arcadia, Calif. And Abbie Ruth of Geary; and 14 nieces and nephews, four of whom O. K. Ringelman, Otto Krehbiel, Helen and Kent Ruth are in Geary.
