WINNIPEG VETERINARIAN KILLED, SEVEN HURT IN HIGHWAY CRASH

Winnipeg, Man. — A two-car collision east of St. Boniface on New Year's day proved fatal to Dr. Walter Giesbrecht, 40-year-old Winnipeg veterinarian.

Taken to the hospital with severe injuries were seven persons, including his wife Elizabeth and their two sons, 5 and 10 years of age; Kenny Loewen, 11 of Steinbach; and Helen Friesen,43, of Winnipeg.
