Lancaster, Pa. &#8212; Benjamin L. Herr, 74, well known funeral director of the Lampeter community, died suddenly at his home and funeral services were conducted at the Mellinger's Mennonite Church. He had suffered from a heart ailment for several years, but was active until his death.

Mr. Herr joined the funeral service business of his father, Isaac Herr, in 1901 and took charge of the business in 1904. He was one of the organizers of the Lampeter Fire Assn., was on the board of the Rossmere T.B. Sanitarium, treasurer of the Lancaster County Firemen's Assn., secretary of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors' Assn. for 10 eyars [''sic''], and taught in the Sunday school of Mellinger's Church.

He is survived by his wife, five children and six grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Herr had observed their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 10.

Well-Known Funeral Director Died

Lancaster, Pa. — Benjamin L. Herr, 74, well known funeral director of the Lampeter community, died suddenly at his home and funeral services were conducted at the Mellinger's Mennonite Church. He had suffered from a heart ailment for several years, but was active until his death.

Mr. Herr joined the funeral service business of his father, Isaac Herr, in 1901 and took charge of the business in 1904. He was one of the organizers of the Lampeter Fire Assn., was on the board of the Rossmere T.B. Sanitarium, treasurer of the Lancaster County Firemen's Assn., secretary of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors' Assn. for 10 eyars [sic], and taught in the Sunday school of Mellinger's Church.

He is survived by his wife, five children and six grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Herr had observed their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 10.
