Funeral services were conducted at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Limon, Colo. at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 for Menno B. Weaver, 85, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Grove, Oct. 17.
Menno B. Weaver was born to David and Anna Weaver, Jan. 10, 1871, in Lancaster county, Pa.  When he was nine years of age he moved with his parents to Newton, Kan. where he grew to manhood.
He was married to Lavina Burkhart Oct. 19,1893, and this couple became the parents of four sons and three daughters, two of the sons, Paul and Noah, preceding him in death.  Those surviving are, Alta May Grove, Limon; Lester Ray, Flannagan [''sic'' Flanagan], ill.; David J., Junction City, Kan.; Ruth Elizabeth Kanagy, Kansas City, Kan. and Ethel Marie Harbott, Lake Charles, la.  He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as by a brother, Rev. Reuben Weaver, of Haper, Kan.  He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
In 1920 he moved to Lake Charles, La., where his wife died in 1937.  During the past ten years he had been making his home with his children.
When he was a young man he accepted Christ as his Saviour and became a member of the Mennonite Church, in which faith he died.  As long as he was able, he was very active in church work and taught a Sunday school class for many years.
Following the services in Limon Friday, the body was taken to Newton, Kan., Saturday where services were held at 2 p.m. from Pennsylvania Mennonite church.
At the Limon service, Rev. Val Swartzendruber officiated. Rev. Swartzendruber, assisted by the Rev. Earl Buckwalter, conducted the services Saturday. Casket bearers were all nephews of Mr. Weaver.  Burial was in Pennsylvania cemetery.
