FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MOTHER OF NINE CHILDREN WIDELY ATTENDED
Sugarcreek, Ohio. — More than 1,000 persons attended funeral services in the Amish community here for Mrs. Valentine Wengerd, 48, mother of nine children who was instantly killed in a runaway. Services were conducted at the Wengerd home and that of a neighbor.
Mrs. Wengerd was driving a horse-drawn milk wagon when the horse became frightened and ran away. She was thrown from the speeding wagon and landed in a ditch.
